Nashville?

With Liam's entrance into this world quickly approaching, many of you might be wondering about the timing of our move into Nashville. Our last newsletter stated that we wanted to be in Nashville by the summer. The process has been much slower than we hoped, but it has allowed us to take a few things back to the Lord. One of the things that we have taken back is the timing of our move. As we let you know in our newsletter, the desire of the base is two have two separate but equal locations. YWAM Nashville’s vision is to keep the base here in Adams and utilize this amazing property the Lord blessed us with as a training campus to run a lot of our schools out of. We also know that God has called the base to be a part of the city of Nashville as well and as a base we are still praying about how that is supposed to look. Matt and I feel called to be a part of the ministry center in the city. Together with the leadership team, we are really pressing into how the Lord wants it to look. We are seeking strategy and divine wisdom. Our desire as a base is not to be divided, but instead to be like two cogs working together to advance the Kingdom of God. We don't want to try to reinvent the wheel, we want to find what God is blessing and be a part of it. It is an exciting thought. However, in our excitement, we don't want to move ahead of God's schedule. So we wait. We want to apologize if any of you feel misled by us. We feel that as a couple we heard God's voice cleary, but in our eagerness to follow His will, we attempted to do it in our timing. We desire to do this the right way. We would love for you to join us in prayer as we are seeking His perfect timing and His perfect plan. Here are a few things that we are praying about and we know we can't do this without your support!
Prayer points for Nashville

  • Clarity for our leaders here. That the Lord would be speaking vision to them.
  • Clarity for us. That we would be hearing from the Lord. Pray against confusion, but instead to have a clear picture of how our move to Nashville should look.
  • Specific location: As a team, are we supposed to live in the same neighborhood? If so, what neighborhood.
  • Living arrangement: Are we to look for a workplace that has living quarters or are we to find individual housing?
  • God's timeline.

Our goal is to keep you informed and updated on what the Lord is doing in our lives and the ministry He has given us. If you ever want to know more, please feel free to call or email us. We would love to share more with you!

    Weeks 29-31

    29 weeks

    30 weeks

    mouth full of banana bread...

    31 weeks

    A visit from the pops.

My dad came out for a visit the other week ready to check a few southern things off his list. First stop, sweet tea. Now to all you southerners reading this, forgive our West Coast ignorance. In Cali, sweet tea is just regular iced tea with a packet or two of equal in it. Not so here in the South. So, after nearly putting my dad in a diabetic coma with the sweet tea and clogging most of his arteries with a grease filled meal at the only gas station here in town (sorry mom!), we were off to Nashville. We drove through music row and downtown Nashville where my dad was able to go to the Ernest Tubb record shop. We browsed around and listened as my dad excitedly shared with us some of the history behind the place. Item number two successfully checked off.

We were able to check items 2&3 off simultaneously as we stopped for dinner. Good southern BBQ and authentic southern talk...check and check.

It was great to have the chance to show my dad where we live, where the base is, introduce him to some people here on the base, and show him some of the places in Nashville we are hoping to do ministry. It was nice to have a piece of home here in Tennessee. It was a refreshing visit, and somewhere between listening to good music and catching up, we were able to cross Cracker Barrel and Chick-fil-A off the list as well. We had a great time, thanks for coming out dad!
