We were excited that Matt's family was able to be there for the birth of their 3rd grandchild. Unfortunatly, my family wasn't able to be there physically, but thankfully they were able to be there through Skype!

It has been a bittersweet 3 weeks for me, as I am struggling to deal with this new chapter in our life without my mom here to see it. There have been many days when I have needed to call her; to seek her advice, to ask for her help, to call her crying when I am overtired or frustrated, and to call her with each new milestone, and it has been hard knowing that will never happen. Thankfully, I have an amazing support team of friends and family that have helped me, called me, and given me much needed advice and I am forever grateful for that!
Moving...
3 days after bringing Liam "home", it was time for us to move yet again. Matt and a team of selfless friends helped us pack up all of our things and move us 4 miles down the road to a bigger house! It has been such a blessing to have a place all to ourselves until we make the big move to Nashville.
Speaking of Nashville...
As many of you know, it is our desire to move into the culturally diverse city of Nashville. Our base has been waiting for the right time to make the move for a few years and as a base we feel like the Lord has finally given us the green light! After a lot of prayer, the leadership team put together what we call the Nashville Action Team (NAT). I have been asked to be a part of this six person team designed to seek the Lord's vision for our presence in Nashville. It has been such a unique blessing to be a part of this prayer team. God is continuing to paint a creative picture for us of how He wants us to minister to the people of Nashville. We can't wait to see how our family will fit into His masterpiece.
DTS...
We are also looking forward to the Fall as it will mark the beginning of a new DTS for a group of students. In preparation for the upcoming DTS, our base has begun a 2 month renovation of our base. We are giving multiple areas of the base a facelift. 2 days a week, our staff members have been re-tiling, repainting walls and furniture, creating cultural themes in each dorm, and dry-walling. It is our desire to take pride in what God has given us and to give our students a quality experience here at YWAM Nashville.
Erin - I'm praying for you and think about you so often. Liam is a doll! Layne says you're doing great as a mommy -- we had no doubts you would. Lova ya!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your sweet baby boy, Erin! Glad he made it into your arms safely. Mothering little boys is the best :)
